When Breath Becomes Air

When Breath Becomes Air is a book about a thirty-six year old man about to complete 10 years of neurosurgery training. Paul Kalanithi is diagnosed with stage IV metastatic lung cancer. His life takes a flip from treating the dying to being a dying patient struggling to live. After his terminal diagnosis, Kalanithi struggles with different questions; What makes life worth living in the face of death? What do you do when life is catastrophically interrupted? What does it mean to have a child as your own life fades away? Paul Kalanithi died in March 2015 while working on this book and it was posthumously published in 2016.
